Giving back to our communities and supporting our people has been at the heart of the business since PokerStars first launched in 2001. Whether that through supporting our customers to raise money for international emergencies, our local charity committees around the world or larger projects that we have invested in globally, we have always been committed to giving back. We believe that working with our communities and our own people on the ground to make a difference is an essential part of being a responsible business and the right thing to do as a good corporate citizen.
In 2013, we introduced our new corporate giving programme ‘Helping Hands’, which focuses our charitable activity on two key areas of our business: Our Communities and Our People.
It’s not just about financial support, it’s about being able and prepared to focus our support on projects where we think Helping Hands can make a tangible and sustainable difference. As a technology-based business with a wealth of skilled, talented and passionate people we recognize there are so many different ways to give back. We have a global interest in projects that focus on sport and health along with innovative campaigns that leverage science, technology, engineering and mathematics to enable positive social change.
