The Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) has been running since 2007 and has created a whole new dimension of poker in Asia, marking its emergence as a truly global sport. The tour, which is sponsored by PokerStars.net, gives poker players the chance to test their skills against other players in the most glamorous Asia-Pacific destinations, including South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Macau.
The European Poker Tour (EPT) is Europe’s richest and most popular poker tour. Since its inception in 2004 the EPT has staged successful festivals across the European continent, including annual stops in some of the most exciting destinations including Monte Carlo, London, Sanremo, Barcelona and Prague. The EPT also operates the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which is the largest poker festival outside of Las Vegas.
The Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT), sponsored by PokerStars.net, started in May 2008 in Brazil, and has quickly become one of the world’s leading poker tours. As with the hugely successful PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour, which launched in 2007, the LAPT is bringing exciting, world-class poker action to a new region of the globe. Cities and venues that play host to LAPT events include Punta del Este in Uruguay, Vina del Mar in Chile, Medellin in Colombia, and Sao Paulo in Brazil.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) has a long history of being an event that all players want to win. Since it started in 2004, over $60,000,000 has been awarded in prize money, with thousands of players taking part, including hundreds of PokerStars qualifiers.
The 2013 PCA was the 10th anniversary of this incredible poker event. From its beginnings on a cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico, to the live event extravaganza it has become today, the PCA is an event like no other.
The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT), which has been running since 2009 and is sponsored by PokerStars.net, is the region’s only national poker tour. It has grown in popularity over the past five seasons and is a true indicator of the best players in the region, with fabulous added value prizes on offer, including sponsorship on both the APPT and ANZPT.
One of the newer tours in the PSLive stable, the Eureka Poker Tour - sponsored by PokerStars.net - began life in 2011 and has become a popular fixture in Eastern Europe. The tour has taken in events across Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
The PokerStars.com-sponsored UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) was set up in 2009 and quickly became a massive success with huge fields and prize pools. The UKIPT has scaled the length and breadth of the British Isles and Ireland, and even gone beyond it, with a 2013 event in Marbella, Spain. The biggest event to date took place at Nottingham in 2012, when 1,625 players bought in for £770 to create a prize pool in excess of £1 million.
PokerStars.net sponsors the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), which has been running since 2006, and is the most popular national tour in the country. The 2013 season, which is currently under way, incorporates eight events, with stops in Sao Paulo, Parana, Bahia and Rio de Janeiro.
The Estrellas Poker Tour, sponsored by PokerStars.es, is Spain’s biggest and best live poker tour. It began life in 2010 in Alicante, and has since taken in stops in a wide range of destinations, including Madrid, Malaga, Ibiza, Valencia, Barcelona and Marbella.
The France Poker Series (FPS) has been running since 2010 and has become a big hit in the country. Sponsored by PokerStars.fr, the tour has enjoyed stops in places like Lyon, Deauville, Gujan-Mestras, and Paris. The tour has also diversified with special ‘Sunfest’ and ‘Snowfest’ events in Mazagan and Evian respectively.
The Italian Poker Tour (IPT), sponsored by PokerStars.it, launched Season 1 in Sanremo in June 2009. The tour has become an outlet for the best players in the country to become recognised, with stops situated in many different places, including San Marino, Nova Gorica, Sanremo, Campione and Saint Vincent.
In 2013, PokerStars opened the ‘PokerStars LIVE at the Hippodrome Casino’ poker room in the heart of London’s West End. The PokerStars-branded poker room hosts regular tournament festivals, such as the UKIPT Series, and has also co-hosted the EPT London Poker Festival.
PokerStars has had a live poker room presence in Macau since 2008. In 2013 PokerStars opened its latest one – the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams – which plays host to the biggest and richest poker tournaments in Asia-Pacific, including the long-running Macau Poker Cup festival and the Asia Championship of Poker.
